Technical External Sales Representative

Designated Area: North West & Northern Cape

Salary: Depending on experience

Reporting to the Branch Manager, your primary responsibility is to increase the company's sales of lifting and rigging products and services. You will be based in Rustenburg and need to cover an extensive area in Rustenburg, Klerksdorp and Kuruman.

​

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 

  • A marketing or Sales Diploma is preferred with engineering background 

  • Minimum 5 years sales experience with proven track record in mining, industrial and achricultural field.

  • Rigging and Lifting knowledge would be a key advantage

  • Extensive Mining , Industrial and Achricutural Knowledge

  • Valid Code 8 drivers License 

  • Prepared to get Forklift and Overhead Crane Licenses if not valid current

  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans

Reporting to the Sales Manager you will be responsible for an assigned territory and customer base within the Cape Town branch and surrounding areas.

Qualifications / Education:

  • Grade 12

  • Sales experience, with proven results, preferably in the industrial environment over a minimum of three years

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, your primary responsibility is to grow the company's market share by securing relationships and generating company revenues. You will play a key role in expanding their market presence, building strong customer relationships and achieving turnover targets.

Required Qualification & Experience

  • Grade 12 or equivalent

  • Sales qualification preferred

  • Previous equipment hire sales experience

  • A minimum of 3 years in a similar environment 

  • Knowledge of the lifting equipment industry

 

Key Skills:

  • Working knowledge of crane operations

  • Accurate interpretation of crane capacity charts and site requirements

  • Site Surveys: Evaluate the customer's on-site requirements in terms of crane capacity, additional transport, rigging and equipment.

  • Quotations: Formalising the sales offer by providing the customer with a documented quotation specifying pricing in the prescribed format. 

  • Documentation: Ensure that clients submit all relevant documentation required to formalize the trade relationship i.e. credit applications, vendor applications etc.

  • Client Relationship Development & Management: 

  1. Source new business opportunities

  2. Manage existing client base

  3. Coordinate price and or discount negotiations as deemed appropriate

  4. Ensure that client dissatisfaction and complaints are formally addressed and resolved 

  5. Ensure customer's account is within payment terms
